ICON Supports the Make-A-Wish Ball

ICON EV and the Make-A-Wish Charity Ball are a match made in heaven! The Make-A-Wish Foundation Central and Western North Carolina Chapter’s 2024 Charity Wish Ball is happening Friday, March 1st. For the third year in a row, ICON has been a dedicated supporter of this incredible charity, helping to make dreams come true for children facing life-altering illnesses. We are pleased to support this incredible foundation with members of our stellar Charlotte-area North Carolina ICON team, who hold this charity near and dear to their hearts.

ICON EV and Make-A-Wish…Finding “The WHY”

Members of our very own ICON EV family suffered the devastating loss of their 15-day old infant in 2013. Now, they try to bring smiles to other children facing medical hardships, all in honor of their firstborn son. Certainly, the devastating question of “WHY did this have to happen to us?” ultimately becomes the catalyst to finding “The WHY” in our commitment to serving others. Supporting Make-A-Wish is an opportunity to help other families find joy in even the most difficult journeys. In fact, research shows children who have wishes granted are more likely to find the physical and emotional strength needed to fight their illnesses.

With such a meaningful “WHY,” we are honored to join Make-A-Wish in granting wishes to these families. The cost of granting each wish averages $7500.00. In the first two years of our involvement, ICON EV and Make-A-Wish were able to grant 3 or 4 wishes each year with the funds we raised together. So our 2024 goal is raising funds to grant not just 3 or 4 wishes, but to grant as many wishes as possible!

The Wish Ball 2024 theme is “The Greatest Wish,” a nod to the highly-acclaimed musical film “The Greatest Showman,” which is a fitting tribute to the life of famed entertainer and infamous dreamer, P.T. Barnum. In keeping with the theme of the evening, the foundation was certainly reaching for the stars while planning this event. In fact, this year’s ball is at the largest venue yet. The Revelry at Camp North End in Charlotte, NC is a cutting edge venue, which boasts over 23,00 square feet of space. With a wide-open floor plan, WiFi, and state-of-the-art visual projection & sound, this massive venue is fit for showman-style entertainment. And get ready to look the part… Fittingly, this blue tie event is worthy of your most dramatic and stage-ready attire!

A Golf Cart to Wish For

We deeply treasure the relationship between ICON EV and Make-A-Wish. So our North Carolina factory generously donated a 2023 ICON i40L lifted 4-passenger golf cart, MSRP $14,499.00. We not only gave it a one-of-a-kind custom sangria red color, but we color-matched the fender flares, too. Next, our friends at Tillery Custom Golf Carts kindly added a custom MODZ tire and wheel package (valued at $1700.00). And if that wasn’t enough, we also added custom 2″ wheel spacers for a smoother, more ICONIC ride (value $500.00)! Our fabulous Davis Island/Tampa area dealer, DI-EV, also contributed hand-cut stunning custom Seadek floor mats (value $1000.00). Finally, we leveled up the accessories with an ECOXGEAR soundbar ($350.00), custom rear armrest with cup holders ($200.00), and an upgraded DOT-regulation tinted windshield ($200.00). With all of the generous customizations, we are proud to donate this show-stopping ICON golf cart with a grand retail value of $18,449.00!

While the cart is arriving directly from the factory, we are grateful for our valued dealer network. Charlotte Golf Carts has generously agreed to handle any warranty work on the Make-A-Wish golf cart. As a result, the lucky winner of this beautiful cart will have peace of mind when their new cart arrives! ICON’s excellent Manufacturer’s Warranty covers new golf carts for 3 years from date of purchase.
