ICON® EV is proud to give back to our amazing law enforcement community, so when the opportunity was presented to outfit the dedicated Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) in Martin County, Florida with a new Electric Vehicle for use at South Fork High School, ICON® gladly accepted. ICON® EV was able to customize a sleek ICON® i60L, donated by our generous (and truly iconic) local dealer partner Ace of Carts, for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer Charles Ruby.
Officer Ruby is assigned to South Fork High School in Stuart, Florida, charged with ensuring the safety of both students and staff at the South Fork Bulldogs campus. The new i60L was expertly designed with law enforcement needs in mind, complete with MCSO colors and markings, an LED light bar with flashing blue lights, an intercom system, and even a state-of-the-art sound bar!
An ICONIC Donation!
Rock and Dina Rotundo, the owners of Ace of Carts, transported the newly-commissioned Electric Vehicle Squad Cart (EVSqC) to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters to be presented to the department. On hand to accept the car on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office were Sergeant Mark Diapoules, Sergeant Jeff Read, and the primary driver of the Squad Cart, Deputy Charles Ruby.
After presenting the vehicle to the agency and giving the new owners an introduction to the vehicle’s exceptional features, the entourage headed over to South Fork High School to bring it home to the Bulldogs. South Fork High School Principal DR. Timothy Aitken was waiting to greet the Ace of Carts and ICON® EV teams, and was thrilled to accept the gift on behalf of his school students and staff. MCSO Corporal Drew Porcelli joined in on the excitement as well, and as any skilled LEO would, was on board with providing “back up” for photo ops and logistics!
Serving the Community
ICON® EV Plant Manager Joe Greco spearheaded this endeavor with Lieutenant Joseph Collazo, Director of Community Operations, as MCSO already has another ICON® EV cart or two in their fleet for use in other divisions. Of course, the Ace of Carts family was the generous resource for ICON® and MCSO, as they are the reliable and respected local dealer for that area.
