Aside from her entrepreneurial spirit, Kim shares the ICON Family of Brands’ core principle of giving back to the community. As a breast cancer survivor, Kim believed she was in a unique position to make a difference to others currently fighting cancer.

As Sweers explains, “There’s a saying — the 2 best days of your life are the day you’re born, and the day you KNOW WHY. And I know that cancer has become my WHY. I’ve been called to a higher purpose in life. I’ve gone from cancer patient to cancer survivor, and now to Board Member at Moffitt Cancer Center of Tampa, Florida — Florida’s only National Cancer Institute.” Ultimately, Kim dedicated herself to raising awareness of the prevalence of breast cancer and the need for finding a cure.

The legendary Boat Boss became acquainted with the ICON team at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show, where we collaborated on the Cruise Pink for a Cure fundraiser. Together, we set out to raise substantial and vital funding for the Moffitt Cancer Center and Memorial Healthcare Systems. This effort intended to not only fund breast cancer research, but also to spread awareness and share the message of hope to cancer patients and survivors.

So of course, this ICONIC pairing was a natural fit for such an important mission. In fact, the success of the Cruise Pink for a Cure fundraiser called for an encore! To honor the 10-year anniversary since Kim’s breast cancer diagnosis, ICON joined forces with The Boat Boss at the 2024 Miami International Boat Show for a 2nd Cruise Pink for a Cure!
